The firm was founded in 1983. It established The New York Fine Print Fair in 1984 and helped establish other fairs across North America. Since then, I have sold to over 130 art museums, libraries and foundations in North America and Europe.
This establishment has been guided by the belief that we buy what we love as opposed to what we can sell. Successful collecting is very personal - certainly emotional on some level. True collectors learn from what they collect - they identify with the image, the story and the technical accomplishment of a work of art. They are life-long learners. It should be no different with a dealer.
While a broad range of works of art on paper are offered dating generally 1550 - to today, there are a few specialties and particular areas of interest: 17th century French, Dutch and Italian; 19th century French prints and drawings (1820-1860) and color prints 1885-1920; Symbolism; Whistler and his followers; British printmakers 1880-1930; American prints of the WPA, Modernism; Canadian printmakers; French contemporary prints that follow the linear tradition (Desmazières, Houtin, Trignac and Doaré); .... and those printmakers that really catch my eye - like Marina Kim and Gillian Pedersen-Krag.
